Brexit Readiness Update

The UK will leave the European Union (EU) on 31 January 2020.  Following this, the UK and EU will enter into a transitional period during which existing arrangements will continue to apply.

As we approach this January deadline for Brexit and the UK’s subsequent departure from the EU, we would like to take this opportunity to re-assure our customers that we are taking all steps necessary to maintain continuity of supply. As a group of companies, Arville has been preparing in advance for this scenario despite there being no clear guidance as to the longer-term outcomes of Brexit.

We have been making plans to attempt to mitigate any potential adverse changes in our trading arrangements with both our customers and suppliers and have considered the following main areas:

  • Tariffs on import of raw materials and export of finished products
  • Availability of labour
  • Increased bureaucratic burden
  • Transport delays

In each of these areas we have developed contingency plans to assist us over the Brexit period. The final details of any future trade agreements will inevitably impact on these plans and we anticipate our activities and planning to evolve as the final details of any longer-term arrangements are decided.

Despite these uncertain circumstances Arville expects minimal impact on its business and we would encourage customers to place orders as usual during this time of change.

We would like to re-state our commitment to offering a best-in-class approach to the manufacture and supply of high quality, cost-effective technical textiles. It is this approach which has seen Arville become recognised as ‘The Technical Textiles Specialist’.
