Technology Upgrade Improves Energy Efficiencies

Arville has invested in a new bank of Atlas Copco air compressors to help power the textiles production machinery at our Yorkshire weaving plant. This latest addition of state-of-the-art technology may be compact in its design, but this space-saving equipment offers big benefits in a manufacturing environment.

In keeping with our commitment to leaner manufacturing to help preserve the environment, the compressor systems will achieve 70% reduced energy consumption when compared to its previous predecessor. It has an innovative variable speed drive that automatically adjusts to suit the air demand, with no idling time or blow off losses during operation.

The efficient series of fan motors also help to reduce background noise levels in the factory for the benefit and wellbeing of workers in high-risk areas.

Based on energy savings alone the compressors will have a payback period of only 15 months from installation.

But the compressor’s performance is equally as impressive as its environmental robustness. Manufactured by a company specialising in this niche field of engineering, the compressors deliver clean, dry air that reliably ensures impressive uptime and, therefore, uninterrupted operation of the weaving plant, especially important during busy production schedules.

The compressor is the latest in a series of energy-efficient investments for Arville, following on from the £1m upgrade at the coating plant in Bury, Lancashire.
