Our Process

Arville’s end-to-end manufacturing capabilities allow us to create engineered fabrics which are designed to possess specific physical properties. With a wide range of unique processes, each requiring its own in-depth specialist skills, we are able to combine them to produce bespoke fabrics which have been developed to perform to exacting standards in their end application.

At every stage, we have rigorous QA and testing procedures in place to ensure we maintain exceptionally high levels of quality and consistency throughout the entire textile production process.

The below graphic illustrates all of our processes, from beginning to end, and how they fit together as a whole for a fully integrated approach to textile design.

From the creation and selection of yarns, through weaving and finishing, to the delivery of the end product, our process is highly specialised, and can be tailored to meet your exact needs.

Yarn

Our diverse supply base ensures that we maintain constant availability of high quality natural and synthetic yarns, investing in stock to ensure that we can respond quickly and effectively to our customers needs

Twisting

We begin to engineer the performance characteristics of the fabric before it has even been woven. Our in-house twisting capability allows us to influence the appearance, handling and functional properties of the fabric by exerting a pre-determined amount of twist energy into the yarn

Beaming

Automated warp preparation pre-tensions the yarn allowing for much faster, more consistent and controlled loom set up

Weaving

Our fleet of rapier and shuttle looms are capable of creating flat weaves, tubular weaves and multi-layer weaves with fabric weights from 40gsm-3,000gsm. Dedicated capacity is kept available to handle both short-run production and development trials

Q.A. Inspection

100% on-loom inspection via Barco system provides real-time quality maps and checking of every piece of fabric woven during the production process.

Q.A. Inspection

100% off-loom inspection ensures the highest possible quality of our fabrics. Every piece is visually checked by our inspection team to maintain the highest standards.

Finishing

We apply a wide range of bespoke finishes including: scouring, heat-setting, dyeing, singeing, bias cutting, multi-point slitting, priming treatments, water repellent/release finishes, fire retardant treatments and rot-proofing

Coating

Our recently refurbished coating plant can apply aqueous (water-based) and solvent-based polymer coatings, single or double sided, fabric lamination, fabric widths up to 2 metres, coating weights 8gm2 – 300gm2

Q.A. Inspection

100% off-loom inspection ensures the highest possible quality of our fabrics. Every piece is visually checked by our inspection team to maintain the highest standards.

Fabrication

Our specialist make-up unit can pre-fabricate textiles to any customer requirements regardless of shape, size or quantity – the more challenging the better

End Customer

With a customer base that encompasses over 50 countries world-wide, we manufacture bespoke technical textiles which are utilised across a wide range of highly complex applications and industries
